I agree fully with everything about student loans. I went to school at night because I had to work during the day to support myself. I finished with school in 2001 and had three years of deferment/income sensitive payments. Then the shoe dropped. I consolidated my student loans and now, payment is $700 dollars a month with no reprieve (only allowed 2500 deduction on tax return). I don't want to damage my credit rating by defaulting on my loan so I struggle to pay it along with living expenses (high NY rent) and credit card debt.
It's quite interesting that billions of dollars are going to help companies with top people earning millions of dollars and individuals who go into foreclosure because they bought or refinanced on a home they could not afford. But when it comes to helping the little people who struggle every month to pay their bills it's "no can do." Interesting world we live in, huh?
