Student Loan debt is ruining my life!

I am trying to find help for myself and my good friend. She has it way worse then I do and I'm trying really hard to find some way to help her. She has 10 yr. old twin daughters and a 1 yr. old son. She had her twins at age 16 and does an amazing job in my eyes. Being a single mom with 3 kids is hard enough as it is, but she is also a recovering addict. So during the last part of her college years she was using drugs heavily and didn't know what to do with all the problems and debt. She has not one single good family member, just a drunk crazy mother and a sister who lives with her "girlfriend" and drinks as well. She is completely on her own and the school did not provide any kind of information on how to help with the loans and still be able to survive. She has never heard of a forberance or a deferment! They said there was absolutely nothing they could do for her but to send it to a collection agency! So last year they took her much needed income tax! Now this year, her car is about to be reposessed and her DP&L is about to be shut off and her 1 yr. old son was taken off of the insurance due to a "mistake" by the Welfare agency. She really needs her income tax check this year and I am trying to help her by finding some way to resolve this issue by making payment arragements or getting some kind of forbearence or help! They say there's nothing they can do now that the collection agency has the debt! Please is there anyone that know's what to do? She can't be thrown out into the street! She's a hard working single mom who has no family and of coarse no child support from the father of her 3 kids, and she is doing the very best that she can! I refuse to let the kid's go into the system, that is no place for a child! Please if anyone can help, if you have any info that my help please let me know!!!! Thanks!
