Most people think of the start of a new year as an opportunity to start over and do things right. This is hard to imagine when you have a ton of debt.

I decided to site down today and figure out how much debt I have and to begin thinking about how I might change it.

So here goes. It is hard to stomach but I am hoping making it public record will help me put it into perspective.

My $68,000 student loan debt has become $71,000 due to the interest of my forbearance being applied to my prinicipal. That would be a payment of ~$680 dollars a month.

I have added up my credit card debt and it comes to ~$4500 dollars.

Two stays in the hospital that is going to cost me about $5000 grand

I am telling myself there is no need to complain about this that people have overcame greater hurdles.

It is my goal to pay off the hospital bills and credit cards plus $10,000 dollars in student loan debt before the end of the year.

So I need about $20,000 grand extra.
